Trailhead Note: The trailhead is found on the south side of the Sunrise parking area. Sunrise is approximately 15.5 miles from the White River entrance off of SR 410. Seasonal closure is at the White River campgroud road, approximately 5.5 miles from 410. The road often does not open until July. It is always important to check the status of the road in planning hikes originating from Sunrise. Although the parking lot is large and overflow parking is usually accomodated the quality of this hike is enhanced by an early start when the lot is virtually empty; and then returning in the afternoon and wondering "where did everyone come from."
