aka Canby’s Licorice-root, Canby’s Wild Lovage. The two species of lovage in the Park are distinguished mainly by their umbels. The Canby’s is densely flowered with 15 – 30 rays . Each ray then branches further to form an ‘umbelet’ of flowers. The stem height ranges from 16″ – 4′ (50 – 120 cm). Less common than Gray’s Lovage. Usually found along streams, moist areas, meadows between 4,000′ to 6,500′ elevation.
