Heuchera micrantha

Crevice Alumroot

Crevice Alumroot
aka Small-flowered Alumroot. There are two varieties of H. micrantha in the Park’s flora; var. micrantha has rounded leaf lobes while var. diversifolia has oval leaf blades. Both of tufts of leaves and numerous stiff stems up to 2′ and tiny flowers no more than 1/4″. Identification is difficult and the photos here are probably of diversifolia based on a more pointed, less rounded, leaf shape. Found along stream banks, rock crevices and talus slopes ranging from sea level to the subalpine.
