Gray's Lovage

Gray's Lovage
aka Gray’s Licorice-root, Sheep Wild Lovage. The more common of the two species found in Rainier. The umbel is smaller and more open than Canby’s Lovage and has 7 – 10 rays. The stem is also shorter raising to 8″ – 24″ (20 – 60 cm). The stem may also have a single small leaflet (see leaf detail). Common and found in meadows, along streams and open and forested slopes between 5,000′ to 7,000′ elevation.
