Lyall's Goldenweed
aka Lyallis Serpentweed, Haplopappus lyallii. Typical of plants of the alpine zone T. lyallii is low growing only to about 8″ (20 cm) in height. Usually only one flowerhead of both ray and disk flowers per stem. The leaves are broadly lance-shaped with the basal leaves nearly as tall as the stems. Found primarily on rocky alpine ridges and slopes up to 8,000′ elevation.
