Mountain Monkeyflower
aka Mimulus tilingii, Large Mountain Monkeyflower, Tiling’s Monkeyflower. A low plant growing in mats in mossy seepage sites and alongside streams at times appearing to actually grow in the stream. The stems are 1″ – 4″ (3 – 10 cm) with masses of one inch showy yellow flowers which almost seem too big for the plant. Found in wet locations above 5,000′ elevation and possibly extending into the alpine zone.
