Mountain Parsley
aka Cascade Desert Parsley, Cascade Biscuit-root, Coast Range Lomatium, Few-fruited Hog-fennel. This plant hugs the ground anchored by a thick taproot. The blue-green leaves are mostly basal and leaves and stems are usually smooth. Stems range from 4″ – 12″ (10 – 30 cm) long and bear white to pale yellow umbels. The flattened fruits are elliptical in shape with lateral wings and three ribs on each side. Found on rocky slopes, outcrops, cliffs, scree and dry meadows primarily above 5,000′ elevation.
