Oxeye Daisy
aka Chrysanthemum leucanthemum. A tall nonnative (introduced from Eurasia) plant that reaches up to 30″. Single stems are topped with a single head which is classic daisy, a broad center disk of yellow disk flowers surrounded by numerous white ray flowers. The leaves alternate on the stem and are somewhat “undaisy” like with shapes that are lobed, toothed and spoon-shaped. Thought of as a roadsides weedy plant found below 5,000′ elevation in disturbed areas as well as meadows but occasionally at higher elevations (the case here).
