Pale Agoseris
aka Short-beaked Agoseris, Field Agoseris, Woolly Agoseris, False Dandelion, Fall Dandelion. Despite appearances this lovely plant is not the common dandelion Taraxacum officinale. The exceedingly bright yellow flower can be as much as 2″ (5 cm) across on stems usually no more than 6″ at higher elevations. Short-beaked refers to lack of, or a very short, tip at the top of the seed. Common in drier meadows above 5,000′ elevations but may also be found in rocky flats and pumice fields into the alpine zone.
