Clintonia uniflora

Queen's Cup

Queen's Cup
aka Bead Lily, Brides’s Bonnet. A single unbranched stem rising to as high as 6″ (15 cm) supports a elegant single flower. The flower, 1″ – 1.5″ across, has six widely spaced pure white petals. In some years the bloom will be replaced by a bright blue berry. The glosy tongue shaped leaves are distintive raising from the base (basal) and are usually in pairs, sometimes trios and occasionally a single often rising above the flower. Very common especially in low elevation forests and not usually seen above 5,000 ft.
