aka Holboell’s Rockcress, Arabis holboellii, Arabis retrofracta. The mustard family was formerly named Cruciferae in reference to the crosslike formation of the four petals. The pale purple flowers of four petals form the classic cross of a mustard flower and are about 0.5 ” (7 – 8 mm) long. Stems are between one and two feet in height with unstalked lance-shaped leaves which clasp the stem (unfortunately not shown here). Usually found in gravelly locations to 5,000′ elevation.
