Rockslide Larkspur
aka Olympic Larkspur. One of two Larkspur species in the Park, the other being Pale-leaved Larkspur, D. glaucum, which is less common. Larkspurs are intricate with five blue to blue-purple sepals, 1/2″ – 3/4″ (15 – 20 mm) long, forming the main flower with four much smaller petals which are whitish or light blue forming an eye at the throat of the flower.The uppermost sepal extends backwards as a narrow spur. Common at lower elevations in meadows and higher elevations on ridges and talus slopes.
