aka Antennaria rosea, Rosy Everlasting. The flower heads are reddish-pink to white and consist only of disk flowers with 3 – 20 heads in a tight cluster atop stems that reach 4″ – 12″ (10 – 30 cm) tall. Mat-forming the basal leaves, about 1″ long, are spoon-shaped or broadly lance-shaped and are woolly on top and underneath. The rosy coloration is provided by papery bracts that surround the disk flowers. The bracts may age whitish. Usually found in dryish meadows, grassy slopes, above 5,000′ elevation.
