Tauschia stricklandii

Strickland's Tauschia

aka Strickland’s Umbrella-wort. Once thought to be endemic to Mount Rainier but since discovered in a limited area of the Columbia Gorge. Stems reach to 6″ (15 cm) with umbels that branch further to 3 – 6 umbelets of densely clusted yellow flowers. While not commonly seen, when found it is usually in abundance on subalpine plains and meadows between 5,000′ – 6,500′ elevation, i.e. Grand Park and Spray Park.
