Varied-leaf Collomia
aka Varied-leaf Mountain Trumpet, Variable-leaf Collomia, Vari-leaved Collomia. The trumpet shaped pink or lavender flowers have five lobes spreading from a tube. The tube is only 1/2″ (10 mm) to 5/8″ long. The leaves are both divided and undivided on branched stems usually less than 8″ tall (see photo of field view for scale of this small specimen which is only 1.5″). While not uncommon they are extremely easy to overlook due to their small size. Usually found below 4,000′ elevation.
